Samsung has refreshed its Galaxy A series smartphones and introduced the successor of Galaxy A52 and A72. Samsung has also launched another non-flagship smartphone with 5G support in the form of Galaxy A52 5G. The three smartphones focus on providing an affordable flagship experience with focus on camera quality, display, performance and battery life.
Samsung has promised to provide software upgrades for three generations, and regular security updates for a minimum of four years to the Galaxy A52, A52 5G, and A72. The three phones come with an IP67 rating. There’s NFC support on all the models and come with an in-display fingerprint scanner and face unlock.
Samsung Galaxy A52, A52 5G and A72 price and availability in India
Samsung hasn’t released the price of the three new Galaxy A series smartphones for the Indian market. Having said that the Galaxy A52 will most likely start at around Rs 27,000 while the Galaxy A72 will arrive at around Rs 35,000. The devices are expected to be available ahead of Holi. The 5G variant of Galaxy A52 will not be launched in India.
The Galaxy A52 will come in three RAM options– 4GB, 6GB and 8GB with 128GB storage. On the other hand, the A72 will come in two options– 6GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage. All the phones support microSD cards of up to 1TB and have 2 SIM hybrid slots. Colour options include Awesome Black, Awesome Blue, Awesome Violet, and Awesome White.

Samsung Galaxy A52 and A52 5G specs
The Samsung Galaxy A52 and A52 5G come with similar specs. However, the chipsets are different along with some other features. Samsung hasn’t revealed whether the name of SoC powering the three new phones and have just mentioned “octa-core” processors.
The Galaxy A52 comes with a 6.5-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-O Display (1080 x 2400 pixels) with 90 Hz refresh rate while the 5G variant offers 120Hz refresh rate. Both the devices come with the same 32MP fixed focus, F2.2 selfie camera.
The rear camera specification are same and comes with a 64MP quad camera module consisting of sensors: Main: 64MP OIS AF (F1.8, 0.8µm) + Ultra Wide: 12MP FF (F2.2, 1.12µm) + Macro: 5MP FF (F2.4, 1.12µm) + Depth: 5MP FF (F2.4, 1.12µm). There’s 10X digital zoom on both handsets. Running One UI 3.1-based on Android 11 operating system, the devices are backed by a 4,500mAh battery with 25W fast charging support.
Samsung Galaxy A72 specs
Samsung Galaxy A72 offers a slightly bigger display: 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-O Display (1080 x 2400 pixels) with 90 Hz refresh rate. It’s backed by a bigger battery of 5,000mAh. The selfie camera is exactly the same while the rear camera module has slightly upgraded features. The camera specs include– Main sensor: 64MP OIS AF (F1.8, 0.8µm) + Ultra Wide: 12MP FF (F2.2, 1.12µm) + Macro: 5MP FF (F2.4, 1.12µm) + Tele(3x): 8MP OIS AF (F2.4, 1.0µm). There’s Digital Zoom up to 30X and Optical Zoom at 3X.
